A dental veneer is a thin layer of material that fits over the front surface of a natural tooth just like a false fingernail. Veneers are usually made of porcelain but can also be made of a natural coloured 'composite' material instead.
Veneers are used for many different reasons and can be used to improve the shape, colour and position of the teeth. In some cases veneers can also been used to restore a chipped tooth.
