Dental crowns and bridges are fixed prosthetic devices that are used for different reasons. Both crowns and bridges are fixed to the teeth or implants and are not removable like dentures are.
Crowns:
A dental crown is like a cap that is used to cover the whole of a natural tooth. Crowns can be used if a tooth has been broken or has decay or they can used for cosmetic reasons to make the teeth look nicer. Crowns can be made from different materials including metal or porcelain.
Bridges:
Bridges are used to replace one or multiple missing teeth. Bridges are attached to natural teeth or implants serving as anchors to support the 'false' teeth that are replacing the gap/gaps. Like crowns bridges can be made from many different types of materials.
